1. Preflop
In this hold’em game each player is dealt two cards, face down. These two cards are called the hole cards or pocket cards.
2. The First Betting Round
The player sitting to the left of the big blind begins. Players’ possible steps: raise, call, or fold.
3. Flop
The dealer flips three cards face up on the table. These three cards are called the flop.
4. The Second Betting Round
The player sitting to the left of the dealer begins. Players’ possible steps: bet or check. After betting are raise, call, or fold.
5. Turn
The dealer turns over the fourth community card. This fourth card is called the turn.
6. The Third Betting Round
The player sitting to the left of the dealer begins. Players’ possible steps: bet or check. After betting is raise, call, or fold.
7. River
The dealer turns over the fifth and last community card. This is called the river.
8. The Last Betting Round
The player sitting to the left of the dealer begins. Players’ possible steps: bet or check. After betting is raise, call, or fold.
9. Showdown
The remaining players show their cards. The winner is the player who can show the best 5 cards combination out of seven cards (their hole cards and 5 community cards). So any five cards can be used, even only the community cards. If only one player stays in the game, he will be the winner automatically.
